## Ask about this recording

In the current recording layout, the floating chat bar stays available at the bottom or right hand side of the page. Questions asked there are automatically scoped to the open recording, so you do not need to add the recording as context first. You can keep reviewing the overview, transcript, notes, or comments while you ask follow-up questions.

## Clip a recording

If you can edit the recording, open the recording menu and select **Edit Clip**. The clip editor lets you:

* Drag the start and end handles on a waveform timeline to choose the portion to keep.
* Preview the selected range alongside transcript segments and speaker labels.
* Review the estimated reprocessing credit cost before confirming.
* Close the editor after processing starts; clipping and reprocessing continue in the background.
* Restore the previous recording version for seven days when **Restore previous version** is available.

Clipping replaces the active media with the selected range, trims and retimes the existing transcript, and regenerates the recording summary. It does not transcribe the recording again.

<Warning>
  Only the selected range remains in the active recording after reprocessing. Check both clip handles and the credit estimate before confirming.
</Warning>
